Information Before Assumption

Health testing us an essential part of every breeding decision at Illusion Poodles, but we believe responsible breeding requires more than simply checking boxes on a list.

Before breeding, our dogs are evaluate through an appropriate health screening, with results considered alongside pedigree, family history, longevity, temperament, and the health tends present across generations. 

No health test can guarantee that a dog will never develop disease, nor can a DNA panel predict every aspect of future health. Testing gives us valuable information that allow us to make more educated, responsible breeding decisions - and to avoid preventable risk whenever possible.

We believe transparency matters. Health information is not something to hide when a result is less than perfect; it is information to understand, evaluate, and use thoughtfully when determining whether and how a dog should contribute to the next generation.

We do not health test simply to qualify a dog for breeding. We health test to better understand the dogs we breed.
